About

I live in the woods with my husband, nature, and my camera.  I enjoy nature and photographing our beautiful woods.  I believe in enjoying nature, but also learning from it!

All photos on this blog are taken near our home on the Shell River.  They are usually posted within one week of being captured. I hope you’ll understand when it takes longer. I will let you know within the post itself if the timing is different.

All photos and writing are my property and they should not be used without written permission.

Enjoy the photos and if you wish, leave a comment for me so I know you were here!

  1. Excellent blog! I really like the simple beauty of your pictures as well as the “lessons” you provide with each shot. There is a lot we can learn from nature. Keep up the great work. It is inspiring.

  2. Thanks for visiting my blog! Your photos are beautiful! I love how blogging connects people with similar passions.

    • Thank you so much, Amrita! I love your photos…the icy lake is incredible. I especially love that you can see reflections of the trees in the water on the ice. I was taking photos of reflections yesterday. I completely agree with you, blogging does connect people with simmilar interests, which I love! Thanks for looking at my blog!

  3. OK. I’m going to have to comment as another “river” person. My company name is RiverWays Enterprises. Shellriver, thanks for visiting my blog. I love your photos. In my last post I grumbled about only having snow images to post. Your blog demonstrate just how much beauty and variety there is in snow. Lovely!

    • Thank you, Carla! I am a big fan of rivers, so it’s always great to hear from a fellow river person! I adore being outdoors, and I try to appreciate all seasons. Taking photographs has resulted in my going out more often-even in extreme cold- and has caused me to notice things I would never have noticed in the past! I really love your pine twig and leaf picture! It is so beautiful! I’ll definitely check out your blog again!

    • Thank you for the kind words, Morgan! I am pleased that you like the photos and am glad that I am able to share what I see here with others! Credit for the beauty in the photos goes entirely to the beauty of nature! I love creating, but know that I am merely the messenger of the beauty I see and not the creator of it!
We all have within us a desire to create and innate creative abilities. I try to stay true to my own creative voice and love to see on other blogs what others are creating!
