pieces of pine

It is said that “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” I often think that the parts are pretty great too! Here is a fallen piece of red pine bark and a red pine needle. Lying here under the red pine tree, they are enchanting!

  1. It’s so simple, and yet my eye just keeps looking. πŸ™‚

  2. Thank you, Katie! I am drawn to fallen red pine bark! It seems so different from other bark, that I find it quite beautiful!

  3. It is so perfect, it almost looks as though you placed it to look that way.

  4. It’s so beautiful! The pine needles really complete it. I found a little piece of dead wood during the summer at our cabin… used its photo at the very end of a post (http://wp.me/phaYw-1ca), but am wishing I’d brought the actual piece home to place in our garden. Altho’ sometimes nature is best left where it is, right? πŸ™‚

    • It’s a tough decision sometimes. I like to leave nature as I found it, so others can enjoy it too! But, once in a while, I’m so drawn to a rock that pick it up and take it home with me! But, yes, it is often best left where it is! πŸ™‚

  5. Under the leave, it is a wonderful world for the little creatures πŸ˜€
