trillium

I know that I’m doing something I love when time fails to exist.  This happens frequently in the woods.  I follow a path and my attention is arrested by a flower, tree, or bird.  On this walk I first noticed the wild plum flowers.  When visiting the marsh marigolds along the river, I discovered this trillium.  Its curling bud looks like it is resting in preparation for a big appearance!  In the woods hours feel like minutes and tension is forgotten in the excitement of discovery!
